about

Sometimes I have trouble sleeping. One such morning, February 1st, I woke up at 4 a.m. and wrote this song. Bless my neighbors. Bless the oncoming spring and the end of winter.

lyrics

4 a.m
When the kitchen light
And coffee can
Get personified

Does the lamp desire a duet with the sun
Flashlight's to fire
As iPod's to choir
The hum of early morning house, a tune
When it slows
What does it show?

The snow's filled in the shadow lines
Muffled the rain
Dandruff of moon

5 a.m
By the oven light
And frying pan
Channels left and right

Does the sink desire a duet with the lake
Sky is to tap
As death is to nap
The hum of early a.m. streets, a sound
Hark! Hear it now!
A herald snowplow

The snow's filled in the shadow lines
Muffled the rain
Dandruff of moon

At 6 a.m. parting ways
With the firmament
In sway

The snow's filled in the shadow lines
Muffled the rain
Dandruff of moon

The amethyst gaze glistens in
February 1st, 7 a.m

All beneath the moon will fade
The moon itself will move away
All that in this world that's bought
Now or then returns to nought
