Bars were an essential part of my coming of age story. They were places to get lost and get found and I think a lot of you feel the same or shared that experience too, to the point that it probably borders on cliche. This is also just me thinking a bit about my early adult self - drunk, horny, lonely, compassionate, and capricious. I think it's far enough away now to see it as more definable, but on the other hand, perhaps this isn't how it was at all. But it feels honest nonetheless. Truth and honesty aren't exactly the same thing anyway.
lyrics
Hey boy, what do you say
We go back to my place?
This is no hour for dancing
And besides, I'm drunk off my face
I won't call you tomorrow
Won't trouble you at all
And I'll throw away your number
If I find it in the hall
Come for the point of it all
Up for the night
Arise, go forth, and conquer if you like
Starved for affection
Is far from perfection
With my 3 times a day
I'll be a bachelor all my life
But I'm not a bad companion
Still a bride's maid's never the bride
My compassion has the shelf-life
Of a jar of good honey
Although gone before you know it
It lasts for an eternity
Come for the point of it all
Up for the night
Arise, go forth, and conquer if you like
We're starved for affection
And far from perfection
Come 'cause it's pointless
Up for the night
Arise, go forth, and conquer if you like
We're starved for affection
And far from perfection
Do I sound hopeless?
Hope is not for me
You can snort it, you can smoke it
Or give it to charity
'Cause we get lost in bars so
We get found in bars so
Lost and found so
We get lost in bars so
We get found in bars so
Lost and found so
Lost and found
